Today you will visit Antigua, a charming town which was the colonial capital, offering many interesting sights. This town was mostly destroyed in 1773 by the Santa Marta earthquake. In 1965 Antigua was declared "The Colonial Monument of America" by UNESCO. Go back 200 years, walking the cobblestoned streets and visit the Arms Plaza, the Palace of the Captains-General, the Cathedral, the Arms Museum, the Santa Clara and Capuchinas monasteries, and La Merced Church. You will have the opportunity to visit the jade factory and several handicraft stores. After lunch (not included) a visit to San Antonio Aguas Calientes, an Indian village well known for its beautiful woven and embroidered blouses. In the late afternoon return to your hotel.

your trip continues to Panajachel, a village lake on the shores of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, "Lake Atitlan". This lake is surrounded by twelve Indian villages and protected by three towering volcanoes.

The Textiles still remain the most popular selling items among natives and tourists alike. View the distinct and colorful huipiles, or blouses, still worn and woven by the Indian women. In the afternoon return to Antigua.

Departure from your hotel in Flores or from the Santa Elena airport. On your arrival at Sayaxche on the shores of La Pasion River, you will take a boat ride to the archaeological site of "Ceibal". Here you will visit the Main complex, temples and stelaes. Return to the river to board the boat to Petexbatun Lagoon. Accommodations at Chiminos Lodge. Box lunch & Dinner.

Breakfast. You will board the boat to "Arroyo Aguateca" to visit the archaeological site of Aguateca. Here you will see several impressive stelaes in this exotic jungle overlooking the lagoon. After the visit we will return to camp for lunch. Return to Flores at sunset. Transfer to the selected hotel.

Morning transfer to Tikal National Park for a complete tour to "The Great City" of Tikal. You will visit the Main Plaza, the Central and Northern Acropolis, the Temple IV, the Ball Courts, and other temples and pyramids. Lunch & fees. Visit of the local museum.
